VCU School of Nursing to Hold Tweens and Teens Summit Event

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing Community Organization and the Hayes E. Willis Health Center in Richmond will sponsor a Tweens and Teens Summit to promote adolescent health awareness.
The event will take place, Saturday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at George Wythe High School, 4314 Crutchfield St., in Richmond.
The summit will focus on a variety of education and health topics including paying for college, self-esteem and improving study habits.
“The VCU School of Nursing is committed to engaging with the Richmond community to address health disparities, particularly among our youth,” said Stephanie Ferguson, Ph.D., R.N., coordinator of the Community Nursing Organization and associate professor at the VCU School of Nursing. “If we teach adolescents about healthy lifestyles and good choices, then we set them up for a lifetime of success.”
