VCU School of Nursing to Host Family Fun Night

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing’s Community Nursing Organization and the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club will host Family Fun Night featuring educational sessions and activities for kids.
The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club in Church Hill, 3701 R St.
Sessions for parents and children provided by VCU School of Nursing faculty, staff and students will focus on healthy eating, exercise, reducing risk for diabetes and other topics related to making good health decisions.
“A healthy lifestyle sets kids up for a successful future that can positively impact all areas of their lives," said Stephanie Ferguson, Ph.D., R.N., associate professor in the VCU School of Nursing and coordinator of the Community Nursing Organization.
The VCU School of Nursing is committed to working with community organizations to improve health for families throughout Richmond.
