VCU Student Section of the American Nuclear Society Hosts Forum on 'Fukushima Daiichi: One Year Later'

The Virginia Commonwealth University Student Section of the American Nuclear Society is hosting an expert panel that will address the nuclear situation in Japan following last year’s earthquake and its impact on the nuclear industry and the United States.
The event titled “Fukushima Daiichi: One Year Later,” takes place at 7 p.m. on March 6 in Room 101 of the VCU West Engineering Hall Building, 601 West Main St. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel features Ross T. Thomas, Ph.D., who served as an advisor during the initial months of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear crisis; Thomas A. Bergman, director of the Division of Engineering in the Office of New Reactors at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and Ralph L. Andersen, C.H.P., senior director of Radiation Safety and Environmental Protection and chief health physicist at the Nuclear Energy Institute in Washington, D.C.
