Students, Faculty Present Research at American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Annual Meeting

Seventeen Virginia Commonwealth University undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral fellows and faculty presented research findings during the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, April 9-13, in Washington, D.C.

The meeting, which brought together leading researchers from universities, academic institutions, government agencies, non-profits and the private sector working in the life sciences, highlighted topics that relate to science, health and medicine.

The VCU representatives come from six departments across its campuses including the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Immunology, Life Sciences, Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiology and Biochemistry.

The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology annual meeting is held in conjunction with Experimental Biology 2011.

The Experimental Biology 2011 event is sponsored by six scientific societies, including the American Association of Anatomists, the American Physiological Society, the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the American Society for Investigative Pathology, the American Society for Nutrition and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
