VCU-TV/HD in February exposes the inner workings of the entertainment scene in Richmond, taking viewers behind the scenes of local movie and theater productions, as well as professional wrestling.  Three original programs are scheduled to air Mondays on Feb. 5 and 19.

The half-hour programs, produced in cinéma vérité style, will be broadcast on WCVW – TV channel 57 and cable channel 24.  The lineup includes:

9 p.m. – VCU Theatre Presents: Medea Part 3. As opening night approaches, the Medea cast fine tunes its performances in front of a live audience.  While invigorating for some, the trial run is quite nerve-racking for others.

9:30 p.m. – Cinemaphiles: Matt West.  Cinemaphiles goes on the set of “Beer, Chocolate, or You” and “Beast of Burden.”  VCU Film alum Matt West guides viewers through the two Richmond films.

10 p.m. – Amped! Richmond Lucha.  This is local wrestling mayhem.  They already have a huge following in Richmond and on the VCU Campus, but if you haven’t seen the likes of HorrorShow and Amazon, you’re in for a wild ride.

VCU TV/HD is a student-run television production at Virginia Commonwealth University. Thanks to a partnership with Community Idea Stations, owned by Commonwealth Public Broadcasting, the VCU TV/HD programs air two Mondays a month, through May 21.
