Women have a higher genetic risk for PTSD, according to study by VCU and Swedish researchers
Olivia Trani joined Public Relations as a senior PR specialist for research and science in June 2022. She supports media relations, brand journalism and thought leadership for VCU's health sciences schools, including VCU’s College of Health Professions, School of Dentistry, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and School of Public Health. In addition, she reports about clinical trials and translational research benefiting patients at VCU Health System hospitals and clinics.
Olivia previously worked as a science writer for Oak Ridge National Laboratory and communications officer for the European Geosciences Union. Her work has also been featured at the American Geophysical Union and Inside Science. She holds a master’s degree in science journalism from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in biology and environmental science from the College of William & Mary.
