Virginia Commonwealth University advertising students fared well in a regional advertising competition last month.

VCU students won Best Of Show, two Judges’ Choice awards and several gold and silver medals in student competition at the Hampton Roads ADDY® Awards show.

The ADDY® Awards are sponsored by the American Advertising Federation, the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 40,000 professionals in the advertising industry.

School of Mass Communications Assistant Professor Bridget Camden, who also served as creative director in the students’ entries, said competition at this level gives the students’ work more exposure.

“Creating the work is one thing. Getting it seen is another,” Camden said. “The ADDY® awards show allows students the ability to have their work viewed on a local, regional and national level.”
