Harry Douglas Bear, M.D., Ph.D., Chair, Division of Surgical Oncology at the VCU Medical Center
Bear, a professor, researcher and surgeon at the VCU Medical Center, has been invited to serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. His responsibilities will include reviewing at least six manuscripts each year and providing additional assistance to the editors. He will serve a three year term.

Bear has served as the medical director of the Breast Health Center of the VCU Massey Cancer Center since 1993, leading a multi-disciplinary team in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. In addition, Bear is the program leader for Massey’s immune mechanisms research program, one of the center’s core cancer research programs.

Kenneth N. Daniels, Ph.D., professor, Department of Finance, Insurance & Real Estate
Daniels was appointed to the board of directors of the Virginia Community Development Corp. The VCDC uses private investment to spur economic development and affordable housing. Currently, the VCDC has nine investor funds and a community development bank. Investors include Capital One, Fannie Mae, Wachovia and BB&T. Daniels also serves on the Virginia Treasury Board.
