The 30-foot-by-20-foot banner that has hung on the South Garage at Richmond International Airport reading “Eat Crow, Baby,” and bearing ESPN analyst Dick Vitale’s image, will be signed by Vitale today in Houston along with Virginia Commonwealth University President Michael Rao.

The banner signing will take place today about 3:30 p.m., CDT, at the Williams Tower waterfall next to the ESPN bus on Post Oak Boulevard near the Westin Galleria.

Plans are for the banner also to be signed after the tournament by Coach Shaka Smart, the players and others, and will be auctioned to raise funds for the V Foundation in support of pediatric cancer research. The foundation makes grants for cancer research by institutions around the country, including the VCU Massey Cancer Center.

The banner, which was created by Venture Richmond, will be delivered by its executive director Jack Berry, who is traveling to Houston via VCU alumni charter flight.
