Election Day 2020
Dear VCU community,
As our nation prepares for the upcoming presidential, congressional, and state and local elections, I am pleased to announce that VCU will take Nov. 3 as a holiday in partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia. This holiday will give all of us the unbridled chance to have our voices heard at the ballot box and within the communities that are at the heart of our mission.
Voting is one of our most fundamental and unalienable rights as Americans. So let’s be sure to register to vote, to be familiar with an election process that may look and feel a bit different this year, and to know our polling place if we’re voting in person.
More information related to our holiday is available on VCU’s updated 2020 payday and holiday calendar and the revised Fall 2020 academic calendar. Students in field or clinical placements, internships, co-ops, and other off-site learning experiences should contact their dean’s office if they need additional information.
I am grateful for your continued support, partnership, and leadership. Let’s make all of our voices are heard Nov. 3.
Sincerely,
Michael Rao
President, VCU and VCU Health System
