Office of Equity and Access Services

Dear Colleagues:

Virginia Commonwealth University is committed to an environment of inclusion that enables our faculty, staff, and students to work, learn, and interact with trust and civility.  While all of our students and employees are responsible for adhering to the highest standards of trust, honesty, and respect, our Office of Equity and Access Services (formerly the Office of Institutional Equity) leads, coordinates, and supports our civil rights compliance efforts.

Our equity and Title IX services have been reporting directly to and strongly supported by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration.  Effective July 15, 2015, the Office of Equity and Access Services will report directly to the Office of the President, through my senior executive director, Brian Shaw.  The purpose of this realignment is to demonstrate, at the highest level, our university’s commitment to equity and civil rights.
