Plans set for VCU Commencement May 22

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University's 2004 spring commencement exercises will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 22 at the Richmond Coliseum, 601 E. Leigh St.

This year's commencement speaker is Virginia Governor Mark R. Warner, who also will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters during the ceremony.

Media representatives are asked to enter the Coliseum from the 7th Street entrance, where an information table also will be located.

Media representatives are required to obtain media credentials from VCU News Services in order to gain access to the floor of the Coliseum and reserved media seating. Parking will be available in the Leigh Street tunnel for media who reserve spaces in advance.

Media are encouraged to pick up credentials and parking passes, which will be available during business hours Thursday, May 20 and Friday, May 21 from the VCU News Services office, 816 W. Franklin St. For media who are unable to collect these in advance, News Services representatives will be on hand the morning of commencement to distribute credentials and parking passes at the Coliseum�s 7th Street entrance.
