University hosting visiting Fulbright scholar

Virginia Commonwealth University is hosting Fulbright Visiting Scholar Wael Abd El Sabour Abd Elkader, assistant professor in the Department of Graphic Arts at El Minia University in Egypt, for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Abd Elkader will research The Non-Toxic Contemporary Approach to Teaching Printmaking Art through July 2009.
In addition, Jasmine Rene Phillips, director of Education Abroad in the VCU Office of International Education, was awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to participate in the U.S.-Germany International Education Administrators Program in Berlin in October and November.
The Fulbright Program is America’s flagship international educational exchange. Fulbright grants are made to U.S. citizens and nationals of other countries for a variety of educational activities, primarily university lecturing, advanced research, graduate study and teaching in elementary and secondary schools. Both U.S. and Visiting Fulbright Scholars lecture or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields ranging from journalism and urban planning to music, philosophy, business administration and zoology.
