RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University will be operating under a normal schedule beginning Monday, March 29. At this time, it appears there will be limited access Monday on Broad Street in both directions between Belvidere and Lombardy Streets. Expect congestion in this area. In addition, the School of the Arts Building on Broad Street will be open for classes Monday, but the entrance of the building should be approached from the west. Commuters are asked to refrain from parking in the Carver neighborhood area. Faculty, students and staff who normally park on the street in this area are encouraged to take advantage of the following parking options:

  • Satellite parking will be available free of charge at the Diamond with a free shuttle to Shafer and Franklin Streets on the VCU Academic Campus. The shuttle will run every 10 minutes from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Access the parking lot from the entrance at Robin Hood Road. Parking will be available at 6:30 a.m.

  • Free parking will be available to non-subscribers on a first-come, first-serve basis at the West Cary Street Parking Deck at Harrison and Cary and the SC Parking Lot at 400 E. Grace St.

  • Subscribers to the GS Lot at the corner of Grace and Shafer Streets will be able to use the West Broad or Cary Street Parking Decks

VCU employees and students may access parking information at www.vcu.edu, www.vcu.edu/alert or by calling what is normally the inclement weather hotline at 828-OPEN (828-6736).
