RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University is postponing dedication ceremonies scheduled for Sept. 26 for its new Sports Medicine Center and new West Broad Street Apartments.

University administration decided late yesterday that it would be inappropriate to hold such a celebration at this time.

The dedication events were to be part of a larger celebration called "Broad is Back," and coincide with the VCU/Trigon Champions tennis tournament that runs from Sept. 27- Oct 1. The tournament and its scheduled matches at VCU’s Stuart C. Siegel Center, located at 1200 W. Broad St., will go on as planned.
