VCU to convene regional stakeholders to develop solutions to local food deserts

Experts on Richmond-area food deserts will meet with nationally recognized technology and public policy researchers to develop tech- and community-based solutions to create sustainable food access for local residents. 

The Zoom event takes place Friday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Media are invited to attend from 2:30 to 4 p.m. when recommendations will be offered.

Hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University, the meeting comprises government stakeholders, area food banks and local farms, plus researchers from VCUs College of Engineering, College of Humanities and Sciences and L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs.
