Verizon Executive Offers Proven Marketing Strategies for Today’s Business World

Eric D. Cevis, vice president of Verizon Enhanced Communities, will speak about successful marketing strategies for managing performance, image and exposure on Feb. 24 at Virginia Commonwealth University as part of the ongoing Verizon/VCU Department of Marketing Speaker Series.
Cevis’ discussion, “Driving Success in Today’s Business World … can be as easy as PIE: Proven Marketing Strategies for Managing Performance, Image and Exposure,” will start at 2:30 p.m. in Room B1115 of Snead Hall, 301 W. Main St.
A welcoming reception will precede the event at 2 p.m. in the Snead Hall Atrium. The lecture is the third in the Verizon/VCU Department of Marketing Speaker Series and is hosted by Verizon Communications in collaboration with the VCU School of Business. Cevis will present proven, concrete strategies that students and professionals can use to position themselves for success in the contemporary job market.
“This is an outstanding opportunity for our students, faculty and alumni to learn about marketing strategy from a senior marketing executive in a leading telecommunications firm,” said Michael Little, Ph.D., professor of marketing and interim chair of the Department of Marketing.
Cevis manages all sales, marketing, customer advocacy and portfolio management functions for fiber optic-based FiOS in Verizon’s multi-dwelling unit market. He has served as the national program chair of the National Eagle Leadership Institute, serves on the Verizon Employee Resource Group, the Consortium of Information and Telecommunications Executives, the National Association of Black Telecommunications Professionals, and he is on the boards of the National Multi Housing Council and Verizon Washington, D.C. He is also the Executive Champion for Disabilities Issues Awareness Leaders, a Verizon employee resource group.
