Leila Ugincius, 32, will be responsible for compiling, writing and managing the VCU TelegRAM — a daily e-mail forum for students, faculty and staff about university events and business. She also will develop and edit VCU's online faculty newsletter, VCU View.
“Leila is an excellent addition to VCU News Services as we move to provide state-of-the-art, electronic announcements to our community,” said Pam DiSalvo Lepley, VCU’s director of University News Services. “She also will bring a wealth of technical and graphic design experience as we make over VCU’s online faculty newsletter.”
Ugincius spent 10 years at Virginia Business magazine, where she started as an intern and eventually became associate editor. Most recently, she served as the magazine’s production coordinator, responsible for the planning, layout and design of the magazine as well as organizing all its components – from editorial copy and graphics to advertising sections.
Ugincius is a graduate of VCU with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications.
The University News Services office, part of the Division of External Relations, has two major responsibilities: to fulfill the public information obligations of the university as a public institution, and to develop and execute effective public relations programs to support the goals of VCU and its faculty and staff.
